The Pennsylvania Center for the Book's Baker's Dozen:

Of the many children’s books published last year, The Pennsylvania Center for the Book, sponsored by the Penn State University Libraries, chose thirteen titles to comprise “The Baker’s Dozen: The Best Children’s Books for Family Literacy for 2009”. The list includes both Fiction and Non-fiction picture books, which were selected because they are exciting, fun, and aid in shaping young readers between ages three and six. Check them out here, or for more information on these books, please ask your librarian.
